Hey everyone, Dana here, we just wrapped up another episode in the wake of our time at the NAB convention in Las Vegas. For those who are new to this, NAB stands for National Association of Broadcasters. This annual gathering is quite the spectacle for us in the video and broadcasting industry. If you're new to GVP, listen to our last episode where Michelle and I talk about the event itself.

In this episode, I had the pleasure of talking to NAB first-timers Jake Buckley and Chris Morgan. Chris had experienced the smaller New York NAB gathering in the past, but this was his first at the Las Vegas event. It was Jake's first time at any NAB event. And let me tell you they both felt like kids in a candy store.

The standout theme this year? To no one's surprise: Artificial Intelligence. AI’s fingerprints were all over everything. We talk about all the specific examples we saw in the episode, but just to give you an idea of what this could mean for government video creators, imagine a camera automatically following a speaker across a stage during a municipal budget meeting—no cameraman needed! This sort of tech could revolutionize how government communications are handled, making broadcasts smoother and more professional without hefty investments.

Beyond the tech, the event is also known for its broad-reaching networking opportunities and quirky finds. Jake and Chris share some of their memorable encounters with the people of NAB in this episode as well.

Of course, NAB isn’t just about ogling at the latest gadgets and geeking out over the tech. It’s also about practical takeaways for improving our daily work. For government communications professionals like many of our listeners, the advancements in AI for automatic transcription and translation could be game changers, simplifying record-keeping and making content more accessible.

As this year's NAB comes to a close, I’m buzzing with ideas and insights that I can’t wait to share and implement. Whether you're a tech aficionado, a government communicator, or just curious about the future of video, you're not going to want to miss this episode!
